Tierna Davidson was named tonight’s Player of the Match, and she was crucial to the Red Stars’ efforts to maintain a clean sheet. Davidson led the team in clearances with 13 while also contributing a tackle, interception and block. She also totaled 51 touches to go along with 33 passes.
Cassie Miller’s performance between the sticks for the Red Stars proved to be pivotal and kept the Orlando offense from scoring to earn a clean sheet. Miller faced six shots on target from the Pride (Orlando had 12 total), saving all of them while also registering a punch clearance on the night.
The lone goal on the night came from Kealia Watt’s 6th minute volley, and served as a preview of the rest of her night. Watt finished the game with 28 touches, 17 passes, led the team in open play crosses with four and with shots on target with three.
