CHICAGO (February 25, 2021) -- The National Women’s Soccer League today announced the list of allocated players from the United States and Canada for the upcoming 2021 season. Allocated players are players who will have their salaries paid by the U.S. Soccer Federation or Canada Soccer, respectively.
Six members of the Chicago Red Stars have been named to the list, with defenders Tierna Davidson and Casey Krueger, goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher, midfielder Julie Ertz, and forwards Mallory Pugh allocated by the U.S. Soccer Federation and defender Bianca St. Georges allocated by Canada Soccer.
Davidson, Krueger, Ertz, Naeher, and Pugh were all part of the 2020 Allocated List. St. Georges, the 20th overall selection in the
2019 NWSL Draft by Chicago, is a new allocated player for 2021.
The 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup will kick off the league’s historic ninth season on April 9 and the NWSL’s 10 teams will face off in a 24-game regular season beginning May 15.
