The Chicago Red Stars made history as part of their ongoing 2021 season on more than one account. After beating NJ/NY Gotham FC 1-0 in the quarterfinal matchup, the Red Stars became the first team in NWSL history to reach their sixth consecutive semifinal.
The Red Stars also wrapped up their 2021 home matches 9-2-2, registering the best home record in the NWSL’s history. Their last home match saw the highest attendance this year and their third highest on record with 7,027 fans cheering them into the semis.
