Red Stars total 18 shots, play to scoreless draw vs Gotham

CHICAGO, Ill. (September 4, 2021) - The Red Stars register 18 total shots throughout the game as Chicago and Gotham play to a scoreless draw Saturday, September 4.


KEY MOMENTS


3’ - Casey Krueger gets a shot on goal inside the box, but the bar hits the right post


42’ - Kealia Watt’s left foot shot gets blocked by a diving Kailen Sheridan for Gotham


76’ - DiBernardo’s long-range shot attempt less than ten minutes after subbing into the game misses to the right


GAME NOTES

  • Kealia Watt played all 90 minutes and was found everywhere across Chicago’s attacking third, applying consistent pressure to Gotham’s backline and threatening to score multiple times. She finished with 33 touches, 15 passes and would lead the team in total shots (4) and shots on target (3).

  • The central defending duo of Tierna Davidson and Sarah Gorden proved to be a tall task for Gotham’s attack. Davidson finished the game with four tackles, two clearances and an interception and block each. Gorden finished the game with the team lead in clearances with three, one interception and one block.

  • The Chicago Red Stars’ midfield moved as far as Morgan Gautrat did as she was the focal point in the center of the pitch. Gautrat finished Saturday night’s contest with the team lead in tackles (6), touches (55), total duels (16), total passes (54), and total passes in the opposition’s half (28).
