Milazzo makes regular-season debut, Red Stars fall 5-0 to Portland

CHICAGO (May 16th, 2021) - Tatumn Milazzo entered the game at halftime to make her first NWSL regular-season appearance as the Chicago Red Stars drop their season opener to the Portland Thorns 5-0.

GAME NOTES

  • Tatumn Milazzo’s year of firsts continued in the season opener, subbing in at the half and making her first career regular-season appearance. Milazzo totaled 31 touches, eight duels, three tackles, and two clearances in the second half of Sunday night’s contest.

  • Casey Krueger played a full 90 minutes Sunday night, battling through an injury knock late in the game. Krueger led the team in touches with 67 and had an 80% success rate in duels, adding to her 36 passes (one off the team high), three clearances, and two interceptions on the defensive side of the field.

  • The Red Stars make their long-anticipated return in front of their fans this Saturday, May 22nd against NJ/NY Gotham. It will mark the first time Chicago will have fans in attendance since the 2019 NWSL semi-final and features a kit unveiling that fans won’t want to miss.
