OL: Jess Fishlock scored, but the OL Reign fell to the North Carolina Courage 2-1.
Storylines
Early Summer Stretch: Just three days after their Saturday night matchup against Washington, the Red Stars take on OL Reign on the road at Cheney Stadium. This will be the second game for Chicago in a stretch where they play three games in eight days. They’ll conclude this run of games at home this Saturday, June 26th.
Previously in Tacoma...: Tuesday night isn’t the first matchup in Cheney Stadium between the Red Stars and OL Reign this year. These two teams concluded their respective 2021 Challenge Cup campaigns against each other in the same location on April 27. Mallory Pugh scored the first goal of the game and her Red Stars career in the 38th minute and Morgan Gautrat scored in the 90th minute, however the Red Stars would fall to OL Reign in a 3-2.
Summer Series Stars: When the Red Stars travel to take on the Reign in Tacoma, fans will have a chance to potentially watch some of the United States’ best after having just appeared for the National Team during the Summer Series. The Reign were represented in the recent USWNT camp by Rose Lavelle and Megan Rapinoe, while the Red Stars were on display during the Summer Series as Alyssa Naeher and Tierna Davidson were both called up to the squad.
