New Faces, Same Places: The Red Stars have acquired new talent for the 2022 NWSL season. Joining the veteran roster are young stars Jill Aguilera, Ava Cook, Sam Fisher, Channing Foster, Sarah Griffith and Mikenna McManus. A familiar face to Red Stars fans, Yuki Nagasato makes her return to Chicago after a season in Louisville.
Welcome to the League: Chris Petrucelli begins his first season as head coach in the NWSL. Coach Petrucelli brings 31 years of experience, which include two-time National Coach of The Year awards and an NCAA Championship, to the Red Stars.
CHI-Town H-Town Showdown: The Challenge Cup begins with a rematch of last year’s first game of the Challenge Cup between Chicago and Houston which ended in a draw. The previous Challenge Cup matchup between the two was in the Championship in 2020 where the Red Stars fell to the Dash 0-2.
