GAME NOTES

  • Sunday afternoon’s game continued a trend the Red Stars have had since the Challenge Cup. With first-half goals from Kealia Watt, Zoey Goralski, and Vanessa DiBernardo, 10 of Chicago’s goals in 2020 in open play up to that point were all scored by a different member of the team. Watt’s goal in the second half was the team’s 11th.

  • Chicago’s youth left their mark for the second straight Fall Series game as another member of the Red Stars scored their first professional goal on Sunday. Zoey Goralski, who was drafted by Chicago in 2018, scored her first professional goal in the first half giving Chicago a 2-1 lead at that point in the game. This follows last week’s game where Sarah Luebbert scored her first professional goal on the road against Washington.

  • In her second straight start for the Red Stars, Sarah Luebbert left her mark on the pitch. Luebbert finished a game with a passing accuracy of 90%, with a 77.8% accuracy in the opposing half. She would also register her first professional assist in the second half, finding Watt on her second goal for the game.

  • Camryn Biegalski, in her first professional start, finished the game with a passing accuracy of 75.5% and 60% in the opposing half. Biegalski would also finish with two tackles, clearances, and interceptions each along with two crosses in the open play.
