The Chicago Red Stars have permanently transferred Sarah Luebbert to Club America of Liga MX Femenil in exchange for an agreed upon transfer fee.
“I’d like to thank Sarah for her contributions to the Red Stars over the last few years,” said Associate General Manager, Michelle Lomnicki. “Last season, Sarah came back to a different Red Stars team, took what was asked of her and jumped in to help this team reach the playoffs. Thank you, Sarah, and good luck in Mexico.”
Luebbert returned to the Red Stars in June after spending time with Club America in Mexico where she played on loan. The forward played 13 total matches for the Red Stars in all competitions between the 2020-2021 competitions. In 2022, Luebbert played in 15 matches, starting in 10.
On July 2, when the Red Stars played New Jersey/New York Gotham FC, Luebbert benefited from a cross from Tatumn Milazzo that was tapped to Luebbert by Ella Stevens and she was able to bury it in the back of the net for her first regular-season goal for the Red Stars.
The Red Stars thank Sarah for her contributions to the club and wish her the best in Mexico.
