Chicago, Ill. (April 21, 2022) – The Chicago Red Stars and CIBC today entered into an agreement that will see the premier Chicago bank become the club’s front-of-jersey partner.
"This partnership with CIBC is truly transformational for the Red Stars organization. It will accelerate the already strong commercial growth of the club and allow us to lean into a best-in-class brand like CIBC, as we continue to elevate the Red Stars brand in Chicago," said Vicky Lynch, the Red Stars' Chief Business Officer. "We cannot wait to see the CIBC logo on the front of the Red Stars kit."
“CIBC is thrilled to support the growth of women’s professional soccer as one of the Chicago Red Stars’ leading sponsors,” said Michael G. Capatides, Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head, US Region. “This partnership validates CIBC’s commitment to inclusion, gender-balance and equality within our bank and communities and supporting the ambitions of future players and fans is something we are very proud to do.”
As part of a multi-year deal, CIBC will be the Official Bank of the Chicago Red Stars and the CRS Cares Foundation. While CIBC will receive a full package of marketing assets, the focal point of the partnership will revolve around the front-of-jersey brand placement. In addition, to expand the existing good work that CIBC does in the Chicagoland community, the Red Stars and CIBC will work closely on the development of several CRS Cares Foundation initiatives and programs. The club will debut wearing CIBC on its jersey at its regular season home opener April 30.
The partnership was negotiated on behalf of the Red Stars by Lynch, in tandem with SRS Partners.
The Red Stars’ partnership with CIBC becomes the latest in a series of partnerships with Chicago-based organizations including United Airlines and Powering Chicago, underscoring the club’s commitment to cementing itself in the city’s sports and business landscape.
