CHICAGO (May 22nd, 2021) - The Chicago Red Stars, debuting the new Momentum Jersey, consistently pressured the NJ/NY Gotham FC backline with 13 total shots in their first regular season game at home to earn a hard fought point in a scoreless draw.

GAME NOTES
Mallory Pugh consistently ran at the NJ/NY Gotham FC defense and gave the Red Stars multiple chances in the attacking third. Pugh would finish with 47 touches, three shots, three recorded key passes, 20 passes and four crosses with a total passing accuracy of 65%.
Kealia Watt proved to be another consistent threat for the Red Stars offensively, partnering with Pugh and Rachel Hill throughout the game to put pressure on Gotham’s defense. Watt led the team with five shots and finished with 19 passes for an accuracy percentage of 69.2% in the opposing half, 41 touches, and two interceptions and a clearances defensively.
Sarah Gorden and the Red Stars defensive line held Gotham’s offense to just seven shots total throughout the game while also aiding the attack. Gorden finished the game with two interceptions and a clearance defensively, 52 touches, a successful duel percentage of 75%, 28 passes, two crosses and a pass percentage in the opposing half of 66.7%.
