CHICAGO, Ill. (June 14, 2022) – Canada Soccer’s Women’s National team today announced their roster ahead of the June International Window. On their 28-person roster is Chicago Red Stars defender, Bianca St-George. Canada’s final roster of 23 players, which will also head to the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, will be decided prior to the match vs. Korea Republic.
St-Georges has represented Canada on the international level in the past, helping Canada win the silver medal in the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Champions. She started eight games on the U-17 squad, including in the 2014 U-17 World Cup. She also was a part of the U-20 team that won silver at the CONCACAF Championships in 2015 and was a member of the 2016 U-20 Women’s World Cup. St-Georges has played 1,321 minutes in 16 appearances and 15 starts and made her debut for Canada’s Women’s National Team in June 2021.
With the Red Stars this season, St-Georges has seen the pitch consistently, allowing her to shine as one of the team’s breakout stars. St-Georges has started in every game she’s played in (5), assisted on one goal and scored two of her own, including her first National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) regular-season goal in the Red Stars’ home opener against Racing Louisville FC April 30. St-Georges scored her first NWSL goal in 2020 during the inaugural Challenge Cup. For her performance that year, St-Georges was named the Red Stars’ 2020 Rookie of the Year.
St-Georges is one of three Red Stars being called up to International Duty, joining Alyssa Naeher and Mallory Pugh who were both named to the United States Women’s National Team.
