On behalf of the Red Stars players, staff and owners, I want to confirm that our game tomorrow, Saturday, October 2nd against the Orlando Pride has been postponed. While we were looking forward to hosting our biggest crowd in nearly two years, postponing the match is the right thing to do, given yesterday's news. The match will be rescheduled. Once we have those confirmed details, we will share them. For our ticket buyers, if you cannot attend the rescheduled date, then our staff will work with you to arrange a refund.
After discussions between the league and the NWSLPA, it was decided that due to the horrific news, regarding the sexual and emotional abuse inflicted on players by a long-time head coach, it would be unfair to ask players to compete this weekend. Please note that this coach has never been associated with the Red Stars organization.
We are working in conjunction with our players to proactively implement additional layers of protection to ensure a safe environment for our players and front office, beyond the league policies currently in place. Please be confident that we will continue to do everything possible to ensure a safe and positive environment for our players and front office staff.
The abuse of power must stop. Looking the other way must stop. Not listening to the victims must stop. We, the entire Red Stars organization, are committed to making that happen.

"We are working in conjunction with our players to proactively implement additional layers of protection to ensure a safe environment for our players and front office" I'm wondering how the recent business with Dames being allowed to coach through the Final and then resign under cover of night was proactive? Seems pretty reactive to me.
